Cochise Stronghold camping trip March 2024

 Cochise Stronghold is a beautiful area with oak trees and large boulders in the Dragoon mountains in southeast Arizona.  The first pic shows afternoon appetizers (courtesy of Noreen) - "Just because we're camping, doesn't mean we have to be uncivilized.'' The next picture is of "Half Moon Tank" (a 4.5 mile round-trip hike from the campground). The following three pics are rock formations near the Tank and, the last picture is of an old homestead on Cochise Stronghold road. We highly recommend this campground; it has about 9 paved camp spots and pit toilets (no potable water available). There is a campground fee @ $20 per night however, the cost drops half with a discount pass. There is also a dozen or more dispersed camping spots approximately a mile before the campground. Our camping friends, James & Sarah, were with us. We enjoyed playing cornhole, a hike, sharing meals, and making Smores as we gathered around the campfire. As we were driving out t...

Afternoon luncheon tea

An afternoon luncheon tea is quite the common occurrence at the RV lately. One can expect to be delighted by the beautiful place settings  along with the savories and sweets.

The newly revamped Mad River Explorer 16 Royalex Canoe.  We've had this canoe for many years but just recently, tastefully renovated: oiled all the wood, replaced the cane in the seats, detail cleaned the interior, gave the exterior a brilliant yellow coat; with the keel protectors painted dark brown, new decals and we're good to go!  Looking forward to getting her out on the water again.
